Middlesex County Volunteers Fifes & Drums is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. All donations are fully tax-deductible to the extent the law provides. One hundred percent of the funds raised through our 25/25/25 Campaign will fund expenses directly associated with MCV’s appearance at the EMT.
25/25/25 Campaign

We are pleased to announce MCV’s 25/25/25 Campaign. This campaign is designed to secure donations of $2,500 from 25 donors before July 20, 2007 in celebration of our 25th anniversary year, which includes participation in the Edinburgh Military Tattoo (EMT) in Scotland. This campaign supplements other fundraising activities for our EMT appearance.
Founded in 1982, and celebrating 25 years of performing traditional and contemporary repertoires of regimental fifes and drums, we are now known as a premier fife and drum ensemble, earning worldwide recognition for performing martial, folk, and classical music from seven centuries.
Perhaps one of the most exciting elements of our silver anniversary year is that in August, MCV is representing the United States at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo for a month-long performance at this “Olympics” of international music festivals. Our show is choreographed, and sixty-five current and alumni members gather weekly to rehearse for this extraordinary event. Our uniforms are being refurbished and logistics for transportation and housing are arranged. Everything is in order – almost.
To date, almost 75% of the funding for projected expenses has been committed. We still need to raise over $20,000 to cover direct expenses for our appearance. Housing and some meals are provided by the EMT, but we must raise funds to cover preparation for the event, transportation, and a modest per diem for the four-week performance period. These expenses will triple our annual expenses for 2007, creating our need to seek funding for our anticipated expenses for the project of $121,350.
Our 25/25/25 Campaign is intended to involve those who:
- Appreciate the spirit of musicians who have dedicated themselves to a common goal of excellence for twenty-five years.
- Endorse international collaboration through music.
- Choose to demonstrate the American spirit of generosity.
- Take pride in promoting a positive image of Boston and the United States.
- Want to help build a model of success for others to follow.
